WHAT IS THE ROLE OF THE ARTIST IN A TIME OF CRISIS?Calling all artists, powerful poets, journalists, and wheatpaste wizards!!
We've been thinking a lot about what, when we do go outside, we're passing on the street (that whole psycho-geography thing)...empty businesses, empty schools...To replace that emptiness we ask...What could we be putting up (on walls, sign posts, electric boxes, and social media) in this moment to support folks emotional/mental health, share public health info, dream of a more just future, and call out politics in this critical moment? ARE YOU AN ARTIST? Send us a print file and we'll print it out and get it up in a neighborhood near you! Use the form below to get in touch! ARE YOU A POET? Imagine you could paint your words on the city walls that our neighbors are passing on their one trip out of the house, what would you tell them? Words of comfort? Advice? A challenge? Your dreams of a more just future? If you're interested, send us your poetry and we'll turn it into prints to put up alongside awesome poster designs people are creating. |
